GSM Based Remote Control & Monitoring System
( For Raw Water Distribution Networks)

Operating Principles
- The water level of storage tanks is measured with suitable sensors. The filling pumps is automatically started or stopped with respect to the level of the tanks.
- Thanks to the specific GPRS modem, a permenant connection within the GSM coverage range is established between the server and the control unit.
- In case of temporary GSM network breakdowns, modem detects that the communication is lost and tries continuously to reconnect to the server. Moreover, if data transmission is not done in the long-term ,control unit resets the modem's energy enabling it to reconnect to the network.
- Storage tank level measuring devices , commanding signals of motors are connected to control unit. Automatic functioning code within the control unit is executed. Signal and server communication status can be monitored on LCD screen.
- If communication between the server and control unit is lost for some pre-defined time period , safe functioning mode is enabled. ( Stopping, Working or Working within pre-defined time intervals, ... ) When communication is maintained, normal functioning of the system is back .
- The Server manages all connection and automatic control duties. Only authorized people can connect to the server via internet and they can monitor or manually control the system units. Signal and communication status at all points can be monitored and recorded.
Advantages Of The System
- Pumps only run whenever needed. This causes reduction of electricity consumption. (Up to %50 )
- Periodic visits to units location shall be minimized. This will lead to decrease in transportation costs .
- Since the filling pumps will work when necessary, overflooding or emptying of the tanks shall be very minimum. Water waste will be prevented.
- Since installation is easy, the control unit can be carried to another location. (For location changes , for brand new wells..)
- It can also be used for remote controlling of water SCADA systems which are no GPRS based.(Wireless, Radio-Modem, cabled systems etc.)
- Server hardware can be hosted at customer or a reliable data centers wrt customer demand.
- There is no upper or lower limit for number of devices.
- Besides automatic water level control, the system can provide water flow measurement, water pressure measurement, automatic valve control and power monitoring of electrical devices. (Motors, pumps, etc,..) With pneumatic and electric actuated valves,valve control is possible. Moreover, with energy analizer connected to motors , electric consumption can be monitored whether it is in inductive penalty limit.
- For the water tank locations, where there is no electricty power, the modules can work with electricty supply from solar panels and/or from wind turbines.
- The system is open to the future technologies. They can be implemented with ease. (UMTS, 5G, etc.)
- There is no need for approval from Telecommunication Institute.( you have to get approval for systems involving radio-modem)
